Who the hell are these people...

Well, we officially moved in today and I am really pissed off.

We were told Wednesday of last week that all that was left was the carpet, Linoleum and trim. All will be done on Friday.

Nope. They did the Carpet on Saturday. Linoleum is done. Trim is partially done. UPDATE: we did this ourselves a few months after we were fully moved in).

We came in on the weekend to clean it ourselves (to get in quicker—Nice thinking Amy!) and we found that the master bath toilet is missing, patio door is broke, no stairs at the back door, no power to living room/master bedroom/master bath, No water and a few other items. We called Monday morning and the company said it would be worked on and finished by Tuesday morning.

Monday night arrives and Amy goes to drop some stuff off at the new place. Only 2 things were done all day.

We arrive Tuesday. Waited all day for a toilet. Nothing was done. No toilet. (After they said it would be there in an hour!) They say it will be on Wednesday.

How they hell do these people think that we are going to be guaranteed to move in by the 30th, when they HAVE NOTHING DONE!

WHAT THE FUCK HAVE THEY BEEN DOING FOR FOUR FUCKING WEEKS! WE COULD HAVE DONE ALL THIS IN ONE WEEK!

I am so fucking pissed off right now. This is fucking ridiculous.

Sorry for my Fucking French!

What I miss when I am away

I have a funny story to tell you. Amy filled me in on the happenings of the weekend and this story is too good to not share.

While I was away at Guys Weekend, she was cleaning on Saturday night and she hears a "helloooo" out of no where.

She goes to the front door and there is my dad standing at the end of the steps, he says, "someone wants to talk to you", and Amy says, "who?" and he says, "Their in the car".

It turns out that Muriel and Lorraine had come over and he took them for a drive in his new minivan. While they were out, he decided to show them the outside of our new home (he lives close to us).

He drove by and saw our minivan in the driveway and decided to knock and see if we were there, but when he saw the door open, he decided to holler so he wouldn't have to try and climb the steps with his bad leg... or scare anyone.

So Muriel and Lorraine (My great aunt and grandmother) come in and see the house and they all love it! As they are standing around talking, my dad looks at Amy and very quietly says, "We are going to get some tacos".

So Amy picks up his hint and says, "Well, we were just about to leave and go get some dinner, because we haven't eaten yet."

Dad winks at her and says, "Do you like tacos?" and Amy says, "yeah we love tacos."

Muriel pipes up and says, "Is there a taco place around here?" and dad says, "Yeah, they just put one up in the new village a few miles away." So Muriel then invites everyone to dinner. (My dad can be so sneaky.)

So they arrive at the restaurant and Amy is standing behind My dad and Muriel and they are facing each other at the counter deciding what to get and Amy is facing the order-taker-chick.

They both are looking at my dad and Muriel like it is a tennis match, back and forth, Muriel would ask how much something was and dad would then say, "well, why don't you get this, or this or this" this went on for like 15 minutes.

Finally they decided what they wanted and Muriel kept asking how much each thing was or second guessing herself, so the order taker looks at Amy and Amy tells her the order and says to put it in. So she does. Amy is just giggling the whole time.

So then Muriel is asking for the total. And everyone is trying to tell her and she can't hear, so then they are trying to show her the display that has the amount. The whole time her hand has her pen and is in the spot where you write the number amount in your check. So Amy reaches around and grabs her hand and helps her write the amount. Muriel is kinda laughing about this and the cleark is trying so hard not to laugh.

Then, Muriel is trying to figure out the date, and dad wasn't listening and tells her the total, so then Amy tells her the date again. So Muriel finishes with the check and then tears it out of her book, but leaves it sit there as she is writing in her register. So Amy reaches around, slips the check out and gives it to the cashier. The cashier then is telling them their order number at the same time as the cook calls the order number out... wait, it gets better:

They get a booth and a table next to it. Amy, my mom and Muriel and my dad are sitting in the booth, while Lorraine and the kids are at the table.

This is a Taco Bell/Long John Silver's combo restaurant, so the cashier comes over with little pirate hats for the kids. A few minutes later Amy looks over at the table and starts giggling, everyone asks her what is so funny and she says, "This is the adult table and that is the kid table." Everyone looks over and all the kids have their hat on and so does Lorraine! Everyone starts giggling... wait, it gets better.

Lorraine sees this little girl who has on this cute outfit, she wants Muriel to see it so she can make one for the girls (my great-aunt is a wonderful seamstress). So, for 15 minutes everyone is trying to get Muriel to see this girl, but every time she finally hears them and looks, the girl goes behind the counter or her parents stand in front of her and Muriel keeps saying, “I don't see anyone!"

By this time Amy is cracking up, she is laughing so hard that she sounds like she is hyper-ventilating. So everyone (except Lorraine, who can't hear anything going on) is laughing and asking if she is okay, and Amy quips, "Lorraine, give me your oxygen". Lorraine somehow heard that and takes the tube out of her nose and hands it to Amy.

This just killsAmy and she falls over on my mom laughing so hard and my dad starts laughing so hard that he almost falls out of the booth. Which makes Amy laugh even harder. It took them a good 10 minutes to calm down!

The whole time, Lorraine and Muriel have no clue what is going on!

So always remember, old people are cute, but half-deaf relatives are a riot!

Wha the Hell... Guys Weekend

Well... Where to start...

I arrived Friday afternoon with my distant brother-in-law Aaron (who owns the trailer we were staying in)and unpacked. Jason and Ron were already there. They went off to golf while I unpacked groceries and listened to music. They came back a few hours later and I believe Chris arrived and then Jon shortly after.

We had some ribs and pork that Ron made and lasagna that Jon brought. Thank goodness, cause I don't like ribs or barbeque sauce. After that we played some horseshoe (the guys taught me how to play!) and then went back to the site to play some poker.

After that the guys went to the bar and I went to bed. They came back and played more poker.

Saturday morning was the tournament, so the guys went golfing while Chris and I slept in.

When we woke up we went and visited his mom's new cabin. We then walked over to the "hen house" and waited for the tournament to end and all the golfers to convene at this hen house for the results of the tournament.

We then went back and had lunch (actually breakfast) and Jason, Jon and Ron went to Hinckley and Chris and I listened to music and talked, while Aaron helped a fellow seasonal resident build his deck.

When the guys came back, we headed out for a game of goofy golf, where all the players are allowed to use only one club and one putter throughout the entire course. I tagged along to learn about golfing and ended up the score keeper (or Pen Bitch) and driver of the golf cart.

We then went back to camp and had dinner (Jason made Vegan burritos and Aaron made Hobo Stew), I cleaned up while the guys went out for another round of golf.

They came back and we loaded up and headed out for Karaoke (where Jason fell off the golf cart on a sharp turn)!

I had a blast. I sang Maybe Your Baby's Got the Blues, All By Myself (where I almost bombed the high note) and I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

The host let me use my own CD's, but some of them he already had so I didn't have too. The bar was a little sparse when we got there, but it livened up around last call.

Chris sang a few songs and so did Jason. I tried to get Aaron too, but he was starting to lose his voice before we had got there. But he still enjoyed sitting at the table and singing along. There was some other great singers there too!

The host was very fun! I was teaching some of the guys Karaoke Etiquette. At the end of the night I said goodbye to the host and he made me promise I would come back, "Cause He needs me for his show!" and that “he would take care of me”....a very funny guy!

We then got back to the site and started a campfire to warm up (It gets chilly driving to a nearby bar in a open golf cart).

A few of the guys were filling me in on what the "Rednecks" were saying about my singing and how they couldn't believe it was a guy singing. The same stuff I hear everywhere I go. One of the guys even said that you can make fun of a guy for singing high, but if the talent is there, there really isn't much negative you can say.

After we warmed up, we all went inside to play poker. The guys tried to teach me how to play and I played one round (until a small incident happened), then someone spilled their beer on the new carpet and I immediately went into “mom” mode and cleaned it up before it set (thank god for baby wipes!) All I could think of was what Kris would say if that set in!

I then laid down and read while the other guys played a hand. Then they all went to bed, except for Aaron, Chris, Jason and Me. We sat around and talked and goofed around and giggle for a while before going to bed. Boy do I have some blackmail pictures!

Sunday arrived and Jon left early, followed by Chris, then Ron (who forgot his laptop and had to come back).

Aaron, Jason and I hung out and cleaned up, ate and talked. We then drove Jason to Pine City to get a new oil filter. His sprung a pretty good leak.

He then left around 6 pm. Aaron and I finished cleaning up and then talked for 2 more hours and left at 8. I really enjoy talking with Aaron. He and I are so alike in many ways and have so much in common. If I could have a real life brother, he is who I would want that to be (and the twins of course).

I had a really good time. I was really quiet until we went to Karaoke and then I wouldn't shut up! As Aaron said, "Karaoke is where I am in my element". It is where I really come out of my shell and shine.

I kept cleaning up all weekend. Sunday, every time they would ask if something was shut off, I would say that I already did it. Aaron said I am always invited!

I just wanted to make sure that it was clean enough for Kris. Nothing sucks worse then coming up to your cabin for a weekend and all your doing for the first hour or so is cleaning. This was their new cabin and Kris graciously allowed us guys to use it for guys weekend. (I am sure she was probably dreading the thought...)

I also knew that there wasn't going to be much for me to do this weekend, so I wanted to make sure the other guys had fun and didn't have to worry about clean up and such! I take pleasure out making sure others are happy. I like playing host. I like making sure everyone is comfortable and entertained and such.

Guys weekend is this weekend too, I am a little worried... the gaggle of guys I am going with can get a little wild and crazy... wish me luck (some prayers wouldn't hurt either!)

GMail for Troops

I think this is a wonderful idea.

Basically anyone who has invites piling up for GMail with Google, should pass the invites along to troops who are overseas. This GMail gives 1 gig of space. Plenty of room for videos from families and etc.

Click the link above for the full story from Wil Wheaton's Blog.

Roll on 18 Wheeler!

THE RAMBLER IS MOVED IN!! It is in backwards, but according to the city our front door has to be facing the driveway. So we won't be having a deck off the sliding glass doors. We'll just have one off the front door.

Odd part, the office said we could still have a deck off our sliding door. Umm, isn't that our neighbor's yard. And they already have a VERY small lot. I don't think so.

We are so excited. We should be able to move in next weekend... wanna help?

No News is not Good News...

Well, the home is supposed to be in the new lot tomorrow, but they still have an old jallopy in there. So we will see.

Also, I put in an impromptu web calendar and photo album, until I can get my own working. Hopefully soon. PHP drives me crazy!

What a day!

Well. I wish I had more web knowledge. I am trying to install a PHP calendar and a PHP transfer program. I can't get them to work. Something just doesn't like me.

Other than that I just can't wait to move... they were supposed to move the trailer in last week, but it still isn't moved in. So we will see... they need to hurry though!

Patience.....is a virtue

Well, sometime this week they will move the trailer to its new home... then finish it and we can move in... I have no patience right now. I want to move in NOW!

And I really want things. I want a new sectional/fold out couch, a recliner, bookshelves, home theatre system, a dual-layer DVD burner, an external hardrive, iPod accessories, Altec InMotion speakers for iPod, home wireless network, Wonder Woman complete first season on DVD, Celine's new live vegas CD, a bedroom set, a new Desk...

But the house comes first, then maybe I can "beg" some stuff out of Amy. Or at least try really hard.

Guys weekend is coming up soon. I can and can't wait. As a Fat man, food is my top priority and right now only 2 meals are guaranteed and I have no idea what I am supposed to bring...

Somedays I feel like I am drowning. I don't know if it is stress, or what. But I feel like no one else is worrying about things, so I have to. I know Amy takes care of a lot of stuff... but, I still feel like the weight of everything is on me.

It doesn't help when she complains about me not doing stuff around the house. I work hard. I may sit on my ass at work, but I have to use my mind and it leaves me mentally drained. I come home late at night and am so awake. But then during the day, I feel like I need to relax to recharge myself, so I don't feel like cleaning, or doing chores. Work is my chore. Be thankful I have a job and go to it. And money... I work hard and I know it is going to pay bills, but I would like to be able to go out to dinner with my coworker once a week, or be able to have pop everynight at work, or buy a DVD burner, or take my family out to eat. I like to splurge a little. I would like for Amy to have her table saw or biscuit joint tool thingy. Maybe when we finally move I will feel less stressed and depressed.

I LOVE LIFE

This past week and a half I have been depressed and stressed and just down. Mainly because we are waiting to hear if we were approved in the new park we are moving to. Then our Mobile Home company called and said they needed more info to approve our loan (after they said we were approved) So I was stressed.

Well, We got a call today. We are approved for a loan and didn't need that other stuff. (One hand had no clue what the other was doing. Maybe they should communicate more.) AND...

Drumroll please...

We got approved to live in the new park. So...

They move the trailer next week (UPDATE: was actually 2 weeks later) and then give them a week or two (Try THREE) to put it all back together and stuff and we move in around the end of June!!!!!! (Try July...just barely!)

Thank you all to those who gave us prayers, mojo, vibes, and that crazy voodoo-that-you-do-so well!

Now we just have to get all the down payment money in one place and sign the papers! (Still keeps us in your prayers again, just in case!) (UPDATE: We never officially closed until about a week after we moved in)

So, once we are moved in, I am going to throw a Luau/house warming party in July... more details to follow!
